Recent Key Events
Description
The index tracks U.S.-listed companies with high relevance to artificial intelligence and frontier technology—including generative AI, commercial space, nuclear energy, and quantum computing—that exhibit elevated market sensitivity. Constituents are selected from NYSE and NASDAQ common stocks and ADRs (excluding companies headquartered in China) classified under AICS codes 33 (Manufacturing), 51 (Information), 54 (Professional Services), 21 (Mining/Energy), 22 (Utilities), or 52 (Finance), with Real Estate (53) excluded; eligible names must also meet minimum thresholds for free-float market cap ($5B+) and 3-month average daily trading value ($5M+). Stock selection uses Akros's proprietary NEXUS thematic analysis engine to identify candidates with strong AI & Frontier Tech alignment, then ranks them by 1-year rolling beta against the Akros U.S. Large Cap 500 Index to select the top 30 highest-beta names. A buffer rule (rank 36) reduces turnover by giving incumbent constituents priority retention. Constituent weights blend free-float market capitalization (50%) and beta (50%), capped at 10% per name. The index is rebalanced quarterly, with ad-hoc rebalancing triggered by weight-cap breaches.
